LISTEN Countdown begins to EVCapital 2027 Launch

County Clare is preparing to celebrate its year as European Volunteering Capital 2027, recognising the thousands of people across the county who give their time to support their communities.

The official launch of Clare’s programme as European Volunteering Capital 2027 will take place at Treacy’s West County Hotel in Ennis on Thursday, 24 September.

Ahead of the launch, Brendan Boyce, Integration Support Coordinator with Clare County Council, Sharon Meaney, Manager of Clare Volunteer Centre, and community volunteer, activist and fundraiser Martin Vernon joined Alan Morrissey on Morning Focus to discuss the significance of the European Volunteering Capital title and what lies ahead for Clare in 2027.

The programme will celebrate the contribution of volunteers across the county, highlight the wide range of volunteering taking place in Clare and provide opportunities for communities, organisations and individuals to get involved throughout the year.
