Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board

The Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board (LCETB) is the state education and training authority for the Limerick and Clare region in Ireland. The authority plays a leading role in the provision of high quality education and training that enables every child and young person to realise their full potential. As an organisation with a presence in communities across the region the authority is acutely aware of the central role played by volunteers in building inclusive, resilient and connected communities.

A key element of the remit of the LCETB is the support provided to volunteer-led youth clubs and groups across the region through the annual Local Youth Club Grant Scheme. This support enables young people to access safe spaces where they can socialise and avail off opportunities that would otherwise impossible to experience. Youth clubs and groups provide opportunities for young people to take collective actions to benefit the wider community and thus animate fundamental values of justice, solidarity, inclusion and citizenship upon which Europe is founded. The Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board is pleased to be part of the European Volunteering Capital (EVC) 2027 steering group and to facilitating volunteering as a core component of society.
