Clare Local Development Company (CLDC) is proud to be a member of the European Volunteer Capital (EVC) 2027 Steering Group, having been involved from the beginning of the initiative. As a long-standing organisation working at the heart of communities across County Clare, CLDC recognises that volunteers are the backbone of community life and play a vital role in building inclusive, resilient and connected communities.

Through programmes such as SICAP, LEADER and a range of community development initiatives, CLDC supports community groups and volunteers by providing training, mentoring, governance support, networking opportunities and assistance with funding applications. We work alongside communities to strengthen local capacity, encourage active participation and help volunteers develop the skills and confidence needed to sustain their organisations.

Our involvement in the EVC 2027 Steering Group reflects our commitment to celebrating and strengthening volunteering across County Clare. We look forward to working with partners to recognise the invaluable contribution of volunteers, inspire greater civic participation and ensure that volunteering continues to thrive, leaving a lasting legacy for communities throughout the county.
